and the ACE award for Transport Infrastructure goes to...

May 2014

We are delighted to announce yet another industry award win.

The Association for Consultancy and Engineering (ACE) engineering excellence awards are one of the most prestigious awards for the UK consulting industry. They recognise consulting excellence both in the UK and overseas by British Consultants. We are delighted to have won the award for Transport Infrastructure. Others in the shortlist included Atkins, URS, Tony Gee and Amey. Another excellent recognition for Roughton’s dedicated professionals currently working in over 30 countries, delivering essential infrastructure in some of the most challenging environments.

The judges had the following to say about Roughton’s achievement:

"Roughton picked up an amazing 16 significant new international transport infrastructure projects during 2013 in addition to 25 existing projects that began in 2011/12, and the 19 projects that were successfully completed in 2013. This small firm of internationally focussed professionals is busy! As an independent, regionally managed consultancy, its track record is in retaining clients with strong relationships and extensive local knowledge. Its success is founded on trust, in continued commitment to local capacity building, raising the standards of safety in transit, and the alleviation of poverty in the regions within which it works. Another great performance"

We also recently won the British Expertise Award for Outstanding International Development Project, for work on the Rehabilitation of Nigeria’s Entire Railway Network.

The ACE Awards Dinner was attended by all three members of Roughton’s Group Board on May 21st (from left to right in the photo): Stephen Kimmett, Bernard Obika and Richard Wotton.
