First Project Completed in Haiti

February 2011

In January this year Roughton International successfully completed its first project in Haiti, supervising the construction of temporary office buildings for government agencies following the devastation of the 2010 earthquake.

The earthquake struck on January 12 2010 killing over 220,000 people and creating significant damage and loss to Port-au-Prince, as well as other cities and settlements in the south. It left Haiti’s government and economic infrastructure in ruins.

Roughton was appointed as an independent consultant to certify the works for the provision and installation of three prefabricated office facilities for the Government of Haiti. These facilities represent an interim solution until permanent offices facilities are reconstructed, which is expected to take years.
