Rehabilitation of National Highways in five States

Roughton International, in Joint Venture with Aarvee Associates Architects Engineers & Consultants Pvt Ltd has been awarded this project by Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India.

Roughton has a strong track record in projects of this kind, with several other roads projects currently in hand in India, and a long history of completed projects behind it.

Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MORT&H), which is primarily responsible for the development and improvement of National Highways, has embarked on the rehabilitation and up-gradation of 1120 km of National Highways in 5 states namely Bihar, Karnataka, Odisha, Rajasthan and West Bengal under National Highways Interconnectivity Improvement Project (NHIIP) with the loan assistance from World Bank.

The Project will be implemented through 15 construction packages, out of which 10 packages will be implemented under EPC mode and 5 under item rate contracts. The works will be contracted through two-stage bidding process ie prequalification and bidding through international competitive bidding. Roughton International has been awarded the Consultancy by MORT&H, India to provide Project Management Consultancy Services to assist the Client during Procurement, Construction and Maintenance of the above packages.

The primary objectives of the current consultancy assignment are:

  • To Assist the Client in Procurement of Contractors and Consultants for various components of the Project.
  • To Monitor the implementation of the Project including Contract Administration during the Construction Period.
  • To Monitor the Project during Maintenance Period.
  • To supervise the Institutional Strengthening components.
  • To Report to MORT&H and World Bank on various aspects of implementation.
  • To demonstrate efficacy of implementation of the Project by monitoring financial, contractual and quality parameters by efficient coordination with the state level execution agencies and consultants.
  • To Train the Client’s personnel in procurement process and project implementation.
