The Prince and the Chief OO of Roughton

November 2013

Richard Wotton gave a presentation to the Commonwealth Business Forum 2013 (CBF) in Colombo, Sri Lanka, entitled ‘Infrastructure Challenges – New Global Partnerships’. The presentation discussed the role that the private sector and PPP has to play in addressing the infrastructure deficit in the Commonwealth and beyond.

Meanwhile, HRH The Prince of Wales was giving the opening address at CHOGM (Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting) in Sri Lanka, after which he met selected international business leaders attending the CBF in Colombo.  At this meeting Richard Wotton, Roughton’s Chief Operating Officer, took the opportunity to brief HRH on the activities of Roughton.  Prince Charles was interested in where sufficient engineers will come from.

Prince Charles had publicly expressed his concerns regarding the danger of Britain relinquishing its reputation as a global leader, unless Britain attracts more young people into engineering.

Roughton International has continued to recruit graduates, despite the global downturn.  With 90% of our turnover overseas, coupled with our strategy for growth and the objective of raising our corporate profile, Roughton International intends to play its full part in showcasing the professional services industry, and attracting higher numbers of the most able graduates into engineering.
