Client: Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust

Roughton was appointed to provide Building Services and Civil & Structural Engineering Services for the works required for the reconfiguration of levels B, D, E & G and the plant room at Queen Alexandra Hospital, situated in Portsmouth. 

Alterations included the following:

Level G – shower room alterations to provide additional shower facilities.

Levels B, D, E & G – general alterations to the following facilities:

• Dirty utilities
• Clean utilities
• Provision of additional fully assisted bathrooms
• Unassisted toilet facilities
• General ward room size and layout alterations

Roughton undertook the following activities:

• Survey of above mentioned rooms and facilities
• Updating of current general arrangement drawings to reflect existing layout
• Survey of existing building services
• Preparation of relevant general arrangement drawings and specifications to accommodate the proposed alterations 

Additionally we were asked to carry out a survey of the existing steel framed plant room structure in order to assess its suitability to support additional plant.
