Queen Alexandra Hospital - refurbishment of original facilities, UK

Client: Carillion Health

Following the construction of the new PFI Hospital extention at Queen Alexandra Hospital, a 14 month project to reconfigure and upgrade the original hospital buildings to meet current standards, was undertaken.

Works included:

  • Installation of temporary stand alone cathodic facilities
  • Assessment of the existing structure to receive new plant
  • New access to the A&E Department
  • Multi-disciplinary design for the reconfiguration of Levels D,F and G to include upgrade dirty utility, clean utility, assisted bathrooms, offices, consulting rooms etc
  • Relocation of hospital sterilization and disinfection unit
  • Multi-disciplinary design of link corridor to HSDU
  • Assessment of the existing lift shaft structure to receive proposed lift test specification
  • Reconfiguration of the Estate Transportation Plan
  • Reconfiguration of the Estate Drainage Works
  • Wind Study and reconfiguration of the entrance and main lobby
