Rewa Bridge demolition, Fiji

The old Rewa Bridge in Fiji, opened in 1937. The 383m, 9 span, steel truss bridge was clsoed to traffic in august 2005 when a new concrete bridge was opened downstream. The Department of National Roads decided the bridge should be dismantled or demolished.

Roughton was appointed to carry out an initial inspection and report on the options for re-use or demolition for scrap. Subsequently, the additional services were provided:

  • Preparation of tender documents
  • Management of tender process
