Client: Dorset County Council

The existing site, owned by Dorset County Council Property Division comprises the existing Mountjoy School and Sidney Gale residential care home.

It was proposed to relocate the Mountjoy School facility to a new site in Beaminster and reconstruct the Sidney Gale residential home to improve and increase the existing facilities.

Roughton was responsible for provision of a flood risk assessment for the redevelopment of the site along with all necessary site investigations:

• Topographic survey
• Geotechnical survey
• CCTV survey of existing drainage
• Close liaison with Environment Agency
• Preparation of hydraulic calculations to assess runoff, storage etc
• Preparation of final flood risk assessment
