Chancery Lane Station is located at the junction of High Holborn, Hatton Garden and Gray's Inn Road and serves the Central Line.

The station has historically suffered from significant water ingress issues and their management and/or prevention has been identified as a critical activity of the current London Underground Stations Improvement Programme, which aims to maintain the station in a condition which is fit for purpose.

Acting as Consulting Engineers, Roughton provided civil, public health and drainage engineering design services.  Works to the station to identify and prepare designs for management/mitigation of the water ingress included:

• Visual condition surveys of the various areas of the station
• Preparation of option/feasibility study
• Technical supervision of intrusive surveys
• Preparation of conceptual design statements
• Preparation of detailed design and all associated CAD Drawings
