Roughton was appointed to provide survey, principal inspection and assessment of various structures on the Jubilee, Northern and Piccadilly underground railway lines in London. Typical structures included in the contract were:

• Retaining walls - mass concrete, RC, masonry, gabion

• Pipe crossings - over and under track
• Foot bridges
• Cable bridges
